Psalm 119:2-3

Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their hearts— they do no wrong but follow his ways. — Psalm 119:2-3

I am so thankful for Jesus! He blesses and He is the way to blessing. Putting faith in Him by keeping his statutes and truly seeking more of Him with all my heart is the way. Obedience and faithfulness is the way. Not perfection.

When we pursue Him with all our hearts; when we seek to learn more of who He is through his statutes and teachings, the Psalmist says we “do no wrong”. When we accept the gift of Faith and we walk in the power of the Holy Spirit we are following “his ways”.

This verse begins to define who are the “blameless” found in verse 1. It also helps me understand how to “walk according to the law of the Lord”. The Psalmist is writing this prior to Jesus coming to earth and being born an infant, living a perfect life, dying a grusome death and being resurrected from the tomb. Yet is calls out to “the LORD” placing his trust in the one who is to come and make all things right, “making the crooked straight”.

These verses stir my heart to learn His statutes in order to “keep them”. It also the motivation to “seek him with all their heart—”

Prayer: “Heavenly Father, cause me to do not wrong in Your eyes, make me follow Your ways. My desire is more of You. As Jesus shows me who You are as Your perfect respresentation, revel Yourself to me through the Word. Father I desire more of You so cause me to know You more. Amen!”
